China to take active part in Japan's Aichi Expo 2005

China will take an active part in Japan's Aichi Expo 2005, Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said in Beijing Thursday.

Kong told a regular press conference that the World Expo will provide a platform for all countries in the world to exhibit themselves.

The World Expo has been held 40 times since 1851. The six-month-long Expo 2005 will start March 25 in the hills of Aichi prefecture east of Nagoya, Japan's fourth-largest city, about 250 kilometers west of Tokyo. China will host the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.
