Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Edmund Ho Hau Wah on Friday presented honors and awards to 29 outstanding individuals and six organizations.

Recipients of the Medals of Honor for this year were from all walks of life, who were honored or awarded in recognition of their significant contribution to Macao or for their dedicated public and community service.

Lau Cheok Va, vice president of the Legislative Assembly, was honored the Grand Lotus Medal or the highest honor.

The Medals of Merit, which fell in seven categories including Profession, Industry and Commerce, Tourism, Education, Culture, Altruism and Sport, were given to the outstanding individuals and organizations that have distinguished service in promoting the development of the respective sectors in Macao.

The Distinguish Service Medals were given to outstanding individuals and organizations for their fulfillment in duty.

Commendations of Prestige and of Merit were given to the individuals who have contributed in the development of the SAR.
