Israeli minister says Palestinian militants agree to truce

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has secured a 30-day cease-fire promise by two Palestinian militant groups, Israel Radio quoted Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz as saying on Sunday.

Mofaz told the radio that an agreement on a cease-fire was completed between Abbas and the Palestinian militant groups of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, in return for a future role in the Palestinian Authority.
