font size

East China's Jiangxi Province used 2.05 billion US dollars of foreign investment in 2004, up 26.6 percent from the previous year, according to statistics from Jiangxi Provincial Statistics Bureau.

The accumulated foreign investment in Jiangxi Province topped 10 billion dollars for the first time since the reform and opening up in the late 1970s, according to the bureau.

Jiangxi worked 24 years since the reform and opening up to get 5 billion dollars of foreign investment in the province. But it took the region only three years to introduce the second 5 billion dollars of investment, statistics show.

Jiangxi ranked eighth, up from the 21st place in the previous year, among all the Chinese provinces and regions in using foreign investment, statistics show.
