Lantern village busy for Spring Festival

5th World Social Forum held in Brazil
Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva addresses the 5th World Social Forum (WSF) in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre on Jan. 27, 2005. He appealed for international aid to developing countries and debt relief for poor nations during his speech here on Thursday. The 5th WSF with the theme of anti-globalization was kicked off Wednesday evening in Porto Alegre. About 78,000 representatives from 120 countries and 6,000 journalists had enrolled to take part in the 6-day forum.
