Premier Wen meets foreign guests

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing on January 28 with US former Secretary of Department of Defense, William James Perry, who is here to attend the International Seminar on China-US Security Issues.

Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of the general staff of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Zhang Yesui, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, were also present at the meeting.

On the same day, Wen also met with 35 outgoing and incoming ambassadors. Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing attended the meeting. The two outgoing ambassadors are Hopelong Uushona Ipinge from Namibia and Riaz Mohammad Khan from Pakistan.

The new ambassadors are Nosirdjon Yusupov from Uzbekistan, Willy C. Gaa from the Philippines, Ashfaqur Rahman from Bangladesh,Boris Velic from Croatia, Saviour Gauci from Malta, Dragan Momcilovic from Servia and Montenegro, Anatoli Kharlap from Belarus, Jeremaia M. Waqanisau from Fiji, Sergei Kamyshev from Ukraine, Mario Rodrigo Yepez Enriquez from Ecuador, Jonathan O. Coker from Nigeria, Guillermo R. Velez Londono from Colombia, Ruth-Grace Sereti Solitei from Kenya, Pedro Pablo Cabrera Gaete from Chile, Viteslav Grepl from Czech, Anmar Abdulhalim Namir Harmud from Jordan, Philippe Guelluy from France, Emmanuel Mba-Allo from Gabon, Mohammad S. Ismail from Iraq, Meszaros Sandor from Hungary,Volker Stanzel from Germany, Vichit Xindavong from Laos, Declan Kelleher from Ireland, Laurids Mikaelsen from Denmark, Luiz Augusto De Castro Neves from Brazil, Marwan Abdulla A. Noman from Yemen, Janis Lovniks from Latvia, Dante Martinelli from Switzerland, Oktay Ozuye from Turkey, Zigmund Bertok from Slovakia,Mohammed Rashid Ali Al-Boot from the United Arab Emirates, Ben Mathias Rugangazi from Rwanda, and Serge Abou from the Delegation of the European Commission of the European Union.
