Chinese central authorities have publicize a set of ideas set forth by the Communist Party of China central Committee and the State Council, on further strengthening the work in rural areas and raise overall agricultural production capacity.

The ideas adopted by the CPC Central Committee are aimed at the improvement of agricultural infrastructure, faster progress in agro-science and technology and increased overall capacity of agricultural production.

The ideas acknowledge that agriculture remains a weak link in the development of national economy with an insufficient input, its fragile foundation has not been altered, and a long-term mechanism of increasing food production and farmer's income is yet to be established.

The overall requirements for China's agriculture and rural work for 2005 are to go on working for the coordinated development between urban and rural areas with a scientific concept on development.
