Dhaka optimistic to SAARC summit

Bangladesh has expressed its optimism to host the Summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, or SAARC, on schedule when the member state Nepal has dismissed the government.

Foreign Secretary Shamser Mobin Chowdhury noted on Tuesday that Bangladesh has completed all preparations for the summit to be held this weekend in Dhaka and his said, to date, no member states have proposed postponing the summit.

On the same day, Nepali King Gyanendra announced that he had dissolved the coalition government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
