Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong put forward five-point proposal Wednesday in Kingston for the continued and substantive progress of China-Caribbean friendly relations and cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win results.
The proposals are: firstly, maintain exchanges of high-level visits and cement political relations; secondly, create new forms and explore areas of cooperation; thirdly, give full play to the governments' role in providing quality services; fourthly, promote cultural exchanges and enhance mutual friendship; and finally, enhance consultation and cooperation to safeguard common interests.
Zeng made public the proposals when addressing the opening ceremony of the first Ministerial Meeting of the China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum 2005 that opened here Wednesday morning.
Zeng Tuesday flew into Jamaica Tuesday on the last leg of his five-nation visit in Latin America and the Caribbean after Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago. He is scheduled to leave here for Beijing Thursday.
