Macao's chief executive appoints members of Security Forces Disciplinary Committee
font size

Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Edmund Ho Hau Wah appointed five members to the Macao Security Forces Disciplinary Committee, which came in effect on February 3.

The responsibility of the newly-set up division is advising on the handling of complaints against members of the security forces of the Macao SAR. Its advice will be submitted to the Secretary for Security and copied to the relevant departments.

However, the committee's authority does not extend to complaints of a criminal nature, internal disciplinary issues of the security forces and matters concerning the relations between structures in the forces.

The committee members will work for a two-year term, which could be extended by the chief executive's order.

Secretary for Security Cheong Kuoc Va urged the security forces to cooperate with the committee's work, which has brought a salutary effect to improve the department's social service.
