Beijing subways to get US$850 mln investment
font size

It has become more convenient to take subway in Beijing.

In 2005 the Beijing Municipal railway construction company plans to build more subways, and the total investment for the new lines will amount to about 850 million US dollars.

The basic construction of the 5th line will be finished this year, and after that facilities and finishing work will be completed.

According to some officials from the company, this year's investment in the subways will be used to build the 4, 5, and 10 lines.

Insiders said the newly built subways will be safer and more convenient than the older ones currently in use. For example, commuters will have automats for soft drinks, food and newspapers.
