China's leaders, including nine members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended a grand celebration Monday morning at the Great Hall of the People to mark the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year which starts on Feb. 9 this year.

President Hu Jintao presided over the occasion and Premier Wen Jiabao delivered a speech at the gathering.
