Nepali King Gyanendra has promulgated various orders, which came into immediate effort on Monday, on security issues during the state of emergency.
According to the orders made public by the Press Secretariat of the Royal Palace, activities such as meetings, conferences, workshops or interaction programs, which do not undermine the kingdom's sovereignty and integrity, disturb the law and order of the country or cause any adverse effect on the current state of emergency, can be held in the specified location by taking a compulsory, prior approval from the Regional Administrator.
During the state of emergency, the security personnel, officers or the designated officials can prohibit publicity through electronic media including the telephone, radio, fax, television and e-mail, and can also monitor such devices and process if they deem it necessary.
The employees of government offices can not form any association or organization that is politically motivated and is likely to harm the sovereignty, national integrity and the law and order. In case they have already been formed, the employees can not carry out such activities through these organizations.
The local administration can immediately put under house arrest and take actions against the persons who do not abide by the orders.
