Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met in Beijing Monday with former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk and his wife Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.

Tang conveyed Chinese President Hu Jintao's cordial greeting to Sihanouk and spoke highly of his contributions to the improvement of the Sino-Cambodian relations.

Tang said that the Chinese government attaches importance to the traditional friendship with Cambodia and will continue to support its effort to maintain the stability of the country and promote the economic development.

Sihanouk said Cambodia will, as always, adhere to the one-China policy and support China's reunification cause, and will make unremitting efforts to enhance the friendship with China.
