The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPR Korea) soccer team arrived in Tokyo on Monday, two days before a match to decide Asia's slots in next year's World Cup finals.
DPR Korea and Japan, both in the final qualifying round, will face each other in Saitama, outside Tokyo, on Wednesday.
DPR Korea, who plays for the first time on the international stage since 1994, is in Group B with Iran, Bahrain and Japan.
The top two from Asia will travel to the finals in Germany next year.
The Korean team will have their first practice session in Tokyo later Monday.
Japan plays in Pyongyang on June 8.
