    President Hu visits people in Guizhou

    President Hu Jintao Tuesday asked local officials to help farmer Zha Lanming to build up family fortunes and improve living standards when he visited Zha's home in a village in Xingyi City of Guizhou Province, southwest China, on the eve of the Spring Festival.

    Israel, Palestinians strike truce deal

    Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced the end of four years of violence during a four-way summit held at Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh Feb 8th, 2005 setting the stage for a full-scale revival of the peace process.
