Seven Hong Kong people, who suffered slight injuries during a traffic accident in Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Friday, were discharged from local hospitals and have returned to Hong Kong Saturday.

Hong Kong Commercial Radio reported Saturday that nine other Hong Kong people are still receiving medical treatment in hospitals in Longsheng County and Guilin City.

The accident took place in Longsheng County of Guilin Friday morning, claiming the lives of a 43-year-old man and a 33-year-oldwoman from Hong Kong and injuring 17 other Hong Kong people, according to sources from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government.

The Miramar Express, which arranged the packaged tour to Guilin, has contacted related insurance companies and Guangxi local companies concerned over the compensation of the dead and the injured Hong Kong people.

It is reported that the Hong Kong Tourism Industry Association has sent a letter to the Guangxi tourism administration to learn the cause of the traffic accident, and is considering the reviewing of the safety guidance provided to Hong Kong touring parties outside Hong Kong.
