Germany will remain as the world's largest exporting country this year, the German Federal Agency forExternal Economy, or BFAI, reported Tuesday.
The country's exports this year can grow six or seven percent to the volume of 780 billion euros (1,014 billion US dollars), said Gerd Herx, director of the BFAI, a government agency which reports and analyzes foreign trade information.
According to BFAI analysis, Asia is still the region where Germany's exports enjoy the highest growth potential, with China, India and Vietnam's imports of German goods to increase 20 percenteach this year, Herx said.
Germany's exports reached 731 billion euros (950.3 billion US dollars) in 2004, which was a 10 percent increase over the year before and enabled the country to be the world's exporter championfor the second time in two years, according to official statistics.
