Spring Festival witnesses 13% increase in air transport

During Spring Festival "Golden Week", China Civil Aviation has dispatched a total of 19,500 airliners, maintaining a balance with that of the same period last year. In the week-long holiday this year, China Civil Aviation has provided 3.21 million seats, up five percent from last year; transported 2.283 million passengers, up 13 percent year-on-year or 270,000 more than that of last year; and the occupancy of sitting capacity stood at 71 percent, up five percent from last year.

According to relevant official with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), China Civil Aviation witnessed passenger peak during the "Golden Week" period. The occupancies of sitting capacity in major cities across China were all above 71 percent in passenger transport during the Spring Festival, which lasted from the first to the seventh in the first month of the lunar year.
