Two US soldiers killed in northern Iraq
font size

Two US soldiers were killed in separate attacks in Iraq's northern city of Mosul, the US military said on Friday.

"One Task Force Freedom soldier was killed by small arms fire in Mosul yesterday (Thursday)," the military said in a statement, adding that the attack took place at about 5:00 p.m. (1400 GMT).

Also in Mosul, another US soldier was killed and three others wounded in a car bomb attack on Wednesday while patrolling the flashpoint city, some 400 km north of Baghdad.

Over 1,460 US service members have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003.
