Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit said on Saturday that a conference which brings together the foreign ministers of the G8 and Arab countries planned for next month will be postponed indefinitely, the official MENA news agency reported.

Abul Gheit said a new date for the meeting, originally slated for March 3 in Cairo to talk about Middle East reform, will be fixed through diplomatic contacts between the participants.

A number of Arab countries are for holding the conference after this year's Arab summit in Algeria in March to "give an opportunity to consider developments in light of the summit resolutions," the Egyptian top diplomat added.
