The Central Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC) held a meeting Tuesday, listening to non-Communist Party personages' opinions and advice on the work of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee since the 16th CPC National Congress and the education program on maintaining the vanguard character of Party members.
Representatives from China's non-Communist parties spoke at the meeting, stressing the importance of continuing the country's reform and opening policies and putting into practice the "scientific concept of development."
They spoke highly of the CPC's recent efforts aiming at maintaining its "advanced nature."
CPC General Secretary and President Hu Jintao attended the meeting. He expressed the gratitude toward the non-Communist personages on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.
Hu said all the non-Communist parties played an important part in the construction of China's material, political and spiritual civilization, stressing that the CPC would continue to "consolidate its union with these parties."
Hu expressed the hope that the non-Communist parties would help the CPC to push forward to education program.
