font size

For a few years to come, China will make efforts in cultivating 12 major red tourism areas. This was learned from the national working conference held jointly by the State Development and Reform Commission, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the CNTA for the development of red tourism areas and in the meantime 30 tour-routes for quality tours to these areas will accordingly be improved with emphasis to be laid on working out some 100 typical tourist attractions and spots so as to open up a new page in the development of tourism industry in red areas.

The 12 "major red tourism areas" include: Shanghai and Zhejiang red tourism areas, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian red tourism areas, Right and Left River (Zuoyou Jiang) red tourism areas, North and West Guizhou red tourism areas, Snow Mountain and Marshland red tourism areas, Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia red tourism areas, Northeast China red tourism areas, Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui red tourism areas, Dabie Mountains red tourism areas, Taihang Mountains red tourism areas and Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing red tourism areas as well as Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei red tourism areas.
