President Hu Jintao, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended a meeting Friday to hear reports about four outstanding Party members from the armed forces.

These model Party members are: Wang Yongzhi, the chief designer of China's manned space program; Yao Zhixiang, a senior engineer from a regiment under the General Logistic Department of the Chinese military; Colonel Chen Changfeng, a member of the Marine Corps; and Li Hong, from a test fly training base of the Air Force.

The four were selected as model Party members for their outstanding performance in their respective posts, which contributed to China's army building efforts.
