SCO concludes Astana meeting

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has concluded its one-day council of Foreign Ministers session at Kazakhstan's capital Astana.

Member countries have vowed to strengthen cooperation with the yielding of a series of documents and joint communiqu��s.

Participants discussed the improvement of communication mechanisms in all sectors within the organization.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing delivered a speech at the meeting, stressing that member countries tighten consultations and coordination in order to better maintain stability in central Asia.

Li Zhaoxing also proposed cooperation on fighting against transnational crimes and more active participation in regional and international affairs.

Following the meeting, foreign ministers will meet again to prepare for the SCO summit meeting in July.
