    Chinese-Philippine Traditional Culture Festival

    The Chinese folk dance is performed at the 4th Chinese-Philippine Traditional Culture Festival on Feb 27, 2005 in Manila. The annual culture festival features activities including folk songs & dances, lion dance & dragon dance, lantern exhibitions. It draws large number of audience in Manila.

    Foreign students join volunteer campaign

    Two foreign students studying traditional Chinese medicine answer to municipal residents' questions on health in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province. During a voluntary campaign in Nanjing's Jianye district, some foreign students of Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital joined the medical team to provide consultancy services to local residents.

    China's first wedding expo held in Beijing

    Iran, Russia sign key nuclear fuel agreement

    Alexander Rumyantsev, chief of Russia's nuclear energy agency (R) signs an key nuclear fuel agreement on Feb 27, 2005 after talks with his Iranian counterpart Gholamreza Aghazadeh. The fuel agreement removes the last obstacle to the launch of Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant, which is expected to be operational in 2006.

    Chinese volunteers cleared up wastes in Thailand

    A Chinese volunteer cleared up wastes at the seabed at Racha Island of the Southern Thailand on Feb 27, 2005. A group of Chinese volunteers arrived Thailand Feb 25 to help clear up wastes in the sea after the tsunami. The mission will last ten days.

    Fire destroys slum in New Delhi

    Women whose houses are destroyed in a fire sink in deep sorrow after the fire in a slum in the south of New Delhi Feb. 27, 2005. The slum sheltering nearly 3,000 people was destroyed in the fire after a gas cylinder burst into flames. Some 15 explosions, apparently of cooking gas cylinders, were heard within the first half hour of the fire. No casualties were reported.

    Hotel in Beijing holds fire drill

    Two firemen rush in a "rescue operation" during a fire drill at a hotel in Beijing, capital of China, Feb. 27, 2005. The fire drill was held in the hope of raising local residents' awareness of fireproofing.
