Li Yizhong named head of General Administration of Work Safety

The State Council has named Li Zhongyi as the minister of the General Administration of Work Safety (GAWS), a newly-formed ministry-level body and part of the government efforts to curb rampant industrial accidents.

Li was removed from his position as a deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).

Wang Xianzheng, Wang Dexue, Sun Huashan and Liang Jiakun were named as deputy ministers of the GAWS.

Zhao Tiechui was named director of the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, under the GAWS. Fu Jiahua and Wang Shuhe were named Zhao's deputies.
