China eastern airlines takes two Boeing 737 aircraft

The Wuhan and Yunnan branches of China Eastern Airlines Monday received the 737-800 and 737-700 delivered by the Boeing company, said an official with the China Eastern Airlines.

The official noted that the lease, done through International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), will help Wuhan and Yunnan branches upgrade their domestic lines operation system.

China Eastern Airlines now operates 43 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 737-700, 737-800, and 737-900, and has ordered a total of 62 Boeing 737 serial aircraft. The airlines, together with other partner airlines, will receive 13 Boeing 737 aircraft through ILFC this year. It will take control of six 737-700 aircraft in 2006.

Rob Laird, vice Chairman of Boeing China, said that his companyhas made great efforts to help their Chinese partner airlines to succeed.
