Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in Beijing Tuesday that he hopes both China and the Philippines will further enhance their reciprocal cooperation in various fields and push forward the development of bilateral relations.

Premier Wen made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto Romulo and his party, who are here on a three-day official visit to China as guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.

Wen gave a positive appraisal to Sino-Philippine relations during the meeting.

Romulo said that the Philippine government attaches great importance to its relations with China and is ready to further increase bilateral relations so as to make their contributions to regional peace, stability and development.
