Chinese naval ships aim at forward position, ready for military actions

As learned from a certain research institute of the naval logistics department: At the beginning of 2005, the "installation for anchoring ships and relying on dry goods supply" the institute itself developed and other research topics have been rewarded a second-class prize of military technological progress, and the "coastal oil transport system" has applied for a second-class prize of military technological progress, these two scientific research achievements have filled in the gaps in these fields.

This represents a gratifying achievement gained by the institute that aims at future military forward position and focuses its effort on getting ready for military actions, which enables the Chinese navy to make new breakthroughs in vertical supply and horizontal guarantee, thus gradually forming a three-dimensional chain of guarantee that connects sea, air and coast, as a result, the naval ships have brought about a historic leap in their comprehensive guarantee capability.

Strengthening the development of naval ships' navigation supply installation, enhancing their overall guarantee ability and prolonging the radius of naval operations are the important aspects of winning future sea warfare. Facing the wave of the world's new military change, the logistics department of the navy, with an eye to the needs of future naval battles, has incessantly enriched its means and enhanced its ability of guarantee In recent years, a certain institute alone has completed 42 scientific research subjects, 11 of which have been awarded technological progress prizes by the state and the army. The remaining 31 research results have become the important component parts of the navy's new-type equipment, thereby greatly upgrading the fighting capability of the navy.

It is reported that ship-borne helicopter vertical supply is one of the important ways of maritime vertical guarantee, which consists of two kinds of supplies: dry goods and liquid goods. The navies of developed Western countries took the lead in implementing vertical dry goods supplies in the 1960s, the amounts of vertical supplies received by modern naval battle formations account for 30-40 percent of the total marine material supplies. Starting from the 1980s, several domestic institutions have started the research on the power-driven ship-borne helicopter refueling and suspension refueling, and have done a vast amount of analyzing and proving work. However, they did not carry out trial-production of equipment, and some even came to an end due to the imperfect system.

Facing the grave reality, the naval logistics department timely deployed human and financial resources, and finally successfully developed the carrier-borne helicopter suspension refueling supply system after more than three years of hard work The new finding solved the problems of aviation fuel supply and two-way fuel supply when carrier-borne helicopters suspend in the air or do not have the condition of landing, thereby filling in the blanks in this field in China.

The supply of coastal oil and other material is the vital channel of naval supply. Therefore the developed countries have attached great importance to this and done lots of researches on it. Under the unfavorable situation of tight technological blockade by foreign countries, the naval logistics department, carrying forward the spirit of independence and innovation, soon finished the research report on the offshore oil transport system. In line with the report, the department established the first domestic reliability mock model of offshore oil guarantee and tension calculation models of maritime floating hoses under the effect of tide and wave. After numerous experiments, the models have met the best tactical and technological standards, and thus filled the gaps in this field in China.
