Thai navy fleet visits Shanghai

A Thai naval fleet arrived in Shanghai Thursday for a five-day visit to the city.

The 870 officers and soldiers of the fleet, involving three vessels Naresuan, Bangpakong and Surin, will visit Chinese frigate, TV broadcasting tower, temple and typical traditional Chinese garden in Shanghai during the stay.

"The visit will be part of a celebration for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Thailand and China," said fleet chief Wttoon Kumpeerapana.

It's the Thai navy's sixth visit to Shanghai.
