Jordanian Foreign Minister Hani Mulqi will leave Amman Saturday for the Palestinian territories and Israel in an effort to push forward the Mideast peace process, the official Petra News Agency reported.

During his two-day visit, Mulqi will stress the necessity of confidence-building between Palestinians and Israelis within the frame of the roadmap peace plan, the report said.

In the Palestinian territories, Mulqi will hold talks with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on a mechanism of implementing resolutions reached at a Feb. 8 Palestinian-Israeli summit in Egypt.

Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon declared a mutual ceasefire at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit to end more than four years of bloodshed.

In Israel, Mulqi will meet Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom to urge Israel to release all Jordanian prisoners in Israeli prisons, the report said.
