Taiwan EVA Air rents MD freighters to expand US market

The Taiwan-based EVA Airways has signed a contract with the US World Airways, renting three MD-11 freighters to expand its US market, EVA announced here Monday.

The three planes will be delivered to EVA Airways in March and August respectively and will be used in the company's trans-pacific airlines.

The deal will increase the number of EAV's freighters to 18. The company's freight flights between Taipei and New York will be increased from eight to nine, and those between Taipei and Atlantawill be increased from six to seven every week.
