SGCC upgrades power transmission capability
font size

In order to ease up the strained situation of power supply the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has suggested to further tap the potential of its 500kv power grid and expand the grid's power transmission capability. It is expected that the inter-region power exchange capabilities will increase considerably in one year or two. The inter-region and inter-province connecting lines and the major power transmission lines within the grid will increase power supply by 5.1 billion kilowatt-hour, which will reduce economic loss caused by outages by 31 billion yuan. The first-phase measures and facilities test work to increase the grid's power transmission capability have been implemented and unfolded.

Liu Zhenya, delegate to the National People's Congress and manager-general of the SGCC, said the move to further tap the potential of the power grid is to improve the technological level and overall performance of the grid in a comprehensive way and optimize the power resource allocation in a larger scope.
