font size

China's cabinet, the State Council, made 21 modifications, including eight major ones, to the government work report according to proposals of parliament members, sources said Thursday.

The presidium of the current session of the National People's Congress (NPC) adopted a resolution Thursday to accept the revised report before submitting it for further deliberation and final approval.

Premier Wen Jiabao delivered the government work report at the opening meeting of the parliament session last Saturday. After careful study of the report, the NPC deputies expressed satisfaction with the work of the government last year and agreed to the government plan for socio-economic development and other work this year, according to sources with the presidium.

They also made a number of proposals and suggestions on the government work, and on this basis the State Council made the revisions to the report.
