Chinese, Japanese FMs talk over phone

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing talked with his Japanese counterpart, Nobutaka Machimura, over the phone on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations during his visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The two ministers said this year is very important in the history of bilateral relations and that both sides should properly handle sensitive issues and further strengthen friendly cooperation.

Machimura, who initiated the phone conversation, reiterated Tokyo's adherence to the one-China policy and compliance with the spirit of taking history as a mirror.

The two also exchanged views on the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula, expressing the willingness to jointly advance the six-party talks.
