Laos voices support for China's Anti-Secession Law
font size

The Foreign Ministry of Laos Tuesday backed China's newly-adopted Anti-Secession Law, calling it China's natural right to safeguard its state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In the statement, Laos voiced support for China's efforts to promote peaceful reunification and maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits.

It reiterated Lao government's persistent stance of one-China policy, and firmly supports China's peaceful reunification process under the "One China, Two Systems" principle.

The Anti-Secession Law, intended to prevent Taiwan's secession from China and clarify China's position on the Taiwan issue, came into effect Monday after Chinese President Hu Jintao signed a presidential decree to promulgate it.
