font size

Visiting Zambian first lady Maureen Mwanawasa Thursday called for Zambia and China to strengthen economic and trade links, expressing her hope that more Chinese entrepreneurs do business in Zambia.

Mwanawasa made the remarks during her visit to some Chinese companies with close trade links with Zambia, including China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation, China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO), and COTEC Medicine Company.

The first lady thanked the companies for supporting to Zambia's economic construction, saying she hoped cooperation and exchanges would increase.

Mwanawasa is scheduled to leave Beijing Thursday afternoon for Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, visiting a center for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention there.
