Tajikistan and Georgia on Tuesday reiterated their "one China" policy in reaction to China's newly-enacted anti-secession law.

In a note to the Chinese embassy in Tajikistan, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reiterated the government's position on the Taiwan issue, saying the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government of China and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.

Tajikistan supports China's territorial integrity and reunification and will not have any official ties with Taiwan, it said.

On the same day, Georgia's First Deputy Foreign Minister Kakha Sihkarulidze told the Chinese ambassador in Georgia that his country supports China's efforts to maintain its territorial integrity.

Georgia's position on the Taiwan issue has been consistent and will not change in the future, he said.

His country fully understands and supports China's policy on reunification, he said.
