Cuba stages signature drive against US resolution
font size

Cubans have launched a signature drive in support of their country against the United States, which promote its anti-Cuba resolution before the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNHRC) in Geneva, the state-run daily Granma said Thursday.

The report said about 1,192 signatures have been collected until now, and writers, artists, scientists and other people from America, Europe, Africa and Asia also joined the "international repudiation against the barbaric and inhuman actions by the imperial policy."

Spanish novelist and journalist Rosa Regas and Argentine famous writers Luisa Valenzuela and Tutuna Mercado were among the signatories.

A slogan "Let's Stop a New Maneuver Against Cuba" criticized the United States for manipulating the UNHRC and turned it into a sort of inquisition tribunal against the Caribbean country.
