Sadullo Khairulloyev, speaker of the lower house of Tajikistan's Supreme Assembly, was reelected in the elections held Thursday.

According to reports from Dushanbe, the Tajik capital, the vote also elected three deputy speakers of the lower house.

Khairulloyev, born in August 1945, graduated from Tajikistan Agriculture College in 1969.

He once served as deputy prime minister and environment minister, and was elected parliament leader in March 2000.

In the two rounds of parliament elections held on Feb. 27 and March 13 respectively, the ruling National Democratic Party of Tajikistan, led by President Emomali Rakhmonov, won 80 percent of all the chamber's seats.
