Iraeli troops are set to evacuate about 9,000 settlers from all 21 Gaza Strip settlements and four from the West Bank under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's disengagement plan this summer.
Command of an Israeli officer training school says the cadets, who will be in the closest contact with the settlers, are receiving rigorous mental and psychological preparation for potential confrontation, such as harsh verbal abuse.
He adds that cadets will be used in the evacuation operation because they are more mature than regular soldiers.
Other troops would not have contact with the settlers, but would be there to guard against violence from the Palestinians.
