The Venezuelan military seized one ton of marijuana in the northern state of Trujillo and arrested two suspected smugglers, local daily El Universal reported Friday.
The marijuana was hidden in a truck loaded with potatoes and onions from Colombia, said Jaime Escalante, head of the No. 1 Regional Command of the National Guard.
The military arrested the two Venezuelan suspects, aged 21 and 28, who admitted receiving an equivalent of 69 US dollars for taking the drugs to eastern Venezuela.
