China grants sewing machines to Nepal

All China Women's Federation handed over 60 sewing machines as gift to the Women's Association of Royal Nepal Army at army officers' club Friday.

Counsellor Wang Langping, wife of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping handed over the sewing machines to Kamala Thapa, chairman of the association.

The machines will be utilized for skill-oriented program conducted by the association, which has conducted skill-development programs for the families of army personnel died in military actions.

As many as 132 persons received the training so far while 25 are attending the training.

Speaking at the function, Wang expressed her conviction that such co-operation will help strengthen the existing relations between the two countries.

Highlighting the 50th year diplomatic relations between China and Nepal on August 1 this year, she said the relations have further been strengthened in political, economic and cultural areas of the two neighbors.
