Suicide car bomb hits US military convoy western Iraq

A suicide car bomber blew up a booby-trapped vehicle at a US military convoy on Saturday in Iraq's western Anbar province, Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported.

The suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden vehicle and detonated at the US convoy on a road west of the city of Ramadi, some 110 km west of Baghdad, but there was no immediate information about whether there were any casualties.

The US troops sealed off the area blocking the main road linking Ramadi with Jordan.

Anger and resentment intensified in Anbar province as US troops launched military offensives on the cities lying along Euphrates river with many innocent people killed or captured, the residents said.
