The Nepal-China Mutual Cooperation Society (NCMCS) was established Sunday in Nepal's western city of Nepalgunj, which aims to strengthen the historical diplomatic relations between the two countries in various fields.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the society, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping said that the formation of the society, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, represents the development of people to people cooperation between the two neighbors.
It has been proved by facts that developing China-Nepal friendship and cooperation is not only in the interest of the two peoples, but also in favor of the peace and stability in the region, Sun noted.
"China will always be a good friend, good neighbor and good partner of the Nepalese people," he added.
On the same occasion, NCMCS President Prem Sagar said, "The NCMCS's main objective is to protect, promote, preserve the cultural, religious, social, economic, educational and technical environment, natural resources, basic skills, knowledge, language, literature and other related fields through mutual exchange and cooperation."
Nepal-China Mutual Cooperation Society has 10,000 members at present. It is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization, which will encourage, protect and honor those individual and organizations who play an active role to enrich the relations between Nepal and China.
