font size

Some 200 people staged an anti-warprotest rally here Sunday on the second anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

The protesters condemned the occupation of Iraq, demanding withdrawal of foreign troops from the war-savaged, oil-rich country in the Middle East.

"Not a single man for Bush, let him go there himself," they chanted in the demonstration.

Arianna Meadowlark, an organizer of the rally, said the occupation must be ended "whether it comes from the East or from the West."

The demonstrators, who included Iraqis and Palestinians, issueda petition to US President George W. Bush, urging him to respect international law and pull back US troops.
