Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (CPC), held talks with Graham Watson, chairman of the European Parliament's Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), here Monday.

Wang said he was glad to see the rapid growth of China-Europe relations. He said he hoped the CPC and European political parties would strengthen dialogue and exchanges and promote understanding and mutual trust so as to push China-Europe relations in the future.

Watson said the ALDE would like to further expand exchanges and cooperation with the CPC in order to cope with problems and challenges in current international society.

Wang briefed Watson on China's social and economic situation, and the two also conferred on issues of common concern.
