MOFCOM to foster 190 key export brands

The Ministry of Commerce released on Monday the list of key export brands to be fostered and developed from 2005 to 2006. One hundred and ninety domestic export brands including Haier, Gree, Xoceco, Galanz, Jialing, Huawei, ZTE, Ordos and Threegun are listed.

The MOFCOM's release of the list of export brands is an important measure to nurture independent brands, enhance the international competitiveness of export products, transform the growth mode of foreign trade and accomplish the shift from a big trading country to a strong one.

The industrial structure of the listed brands is formed by 71 from mechanical and electrical industry, 55 from textile industry, 40 from light industry, arts and crafts, 10 from food, native produce and animal by-product industry, 7 from metals, minerals and chemicals industry, 7 from pharmaceutical and health food industry, which is in accord with the comparative advantage and industrial development of China.
