Cuba urges US to change position on human rights issue

Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez on Monday called on the US government to rectify its position on anti-Cuba resolution before the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) in Geneva.

At a press conference of the Foreign Ministry, Perez said the United States already suffered its first defeat at the UNHRC this year, adding that Washington did not find a country in Latin America or the European Union to present its resolution despite US"brutal pressure and threats."

He pointed out: "It is clear that the United States will be the one to present its resolution."

He said that the White House needs this anti-Cuba resolution as part of its objective to make up a pretext to justify the blockade and aggression against the island country.
